Mission Moment - Libby – Adult Services QIDP
The moment that stands
out to me involves Annie. She would bring up her mother from time to
time even though she had not seen her for 8 years. One day she was
talking about how much she missed her mother and would love to talk to
her again. Annie was able to tell me her mother’s name so that gave us a
starting point. We used Facebook to find her mother. I reached out to
her mother and explained that Annie was looking for her and was
interested in talking to her. Her mother was overjoyed and we were able
to video chat that same day. They were both excited to see each other
and there were tears of joy. A week later, I was able to take Annie to
visit her mother. Since that time, her mother has made a trip to visit
and the two have been in constant contact. Connecting with family and
being able to have your wants heard is the core of the UCP mission.
